Cricelia CalderonSenior Legal Assistant

    MY JOB AT DCWAGELAW

Cricelia does it all. She brings a tremendous amount of experience (and a deep reservoir of empathy) to client intakes, case development and analysis, and legal drafting.

Cricelia grew up in Washington State after her family immigrated from Mexico. Her parents and grandparents worked as farmworkers, and witnessing the difficult conditions and challenges they faced inspired her lifelong commitment to serving low-income workers and their families. She has carried that passion throughout her career, working with the DC Workers’ Rights Clinic, United Farm Workers, SEIU, and most recently the College Success Foundation.

Driven by a desire to make a meaningful difference, Cricelia also founded a small community organization focused on bringing people together and offering support to those in need. Her mission is to help create a more equitable world, and she sees DCWageLaw as the perfect vehicle to advance justice for working people. It is work that matters and changes lives.

Outside of her professional work, Cricelia enjoys walking her dogs, watching comedy shows, and spending time with her nieces and nephews. She is also an enthusiastic amateur birder.
